Merger with Robert Bouffler Music Trust
We are excited to tell you that the East Surrey-based Robert Bouffler Music Trust has merged with the Cheryl King Trust.
The RBMT has a strikingly similar history and purpose. Like Cheryl King, Robert Bouffler was a much-loved musician, teacher and composer. Following his early death in 1987, his friends set up RBMT for the encouragement and support of young musicians in East Surrey, especially those whose families have limited means. As well as music lessons, RBMT has helped to meet the cost of musical instruments and has funded accompanists and grants for young musicians to attend youth orchestras and music courses.
The merged organisation retains the Cheryl King Trust name but Robert Bouffler’s name will be commemorated through awards and events. We are delighted that two of RBMT trustees are joining us: Barbara Barnes (a former pupil of Robert Bouffler) and Nadine Cavaciuti, who joins as Robert Bouffler ambassador.
